When you visit this website information is collected in such a way as to not identify anyone. We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Location data by IP address, your IP address may be set not to provide that information.  

  • The pages you visit, and the date, time, and duration of your visit.

  • How you have been referred to the site.

You cannot personally be identified from this information and any data gathered from this site will not be associated with any other personally identifying information from any source.

When you share personal details with us
Personal contact details are only collected when you complete the inquiry form within the ‘Get in Touch’ page or when you make contact by either email or telephone.

The data collected is the data you provide in the contact form or within your email.
This may include:

  • Phone number

How we get personal information and why we have it

The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You have made an enquiry through the ‘Get in touch’ form

  • You have emailed us

  • You have given a member of the industry consent to pass your details to us so that we might offer our services
    If we obtain personal data from a source other than the individual it relates to (yourself), we will provide you with this privacy information within a reasonable period of obtaining the personal data, and no later than one month

We do not receive personal information indirectly, from any other sources.

How Do we Use The Information Collected?

We use the information that you have given us in order to support you with our design services.

Any personal contact details collected will only be used in communication, both verbal and written, with you throughout the course of the design process for your garden.

This information will be stored electronically and securely within computer records (see ‘How we store your data’ below).

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time.

Contract. The processing is necessary for a contract we have agreed in order to proceed with the design process.  

Who we share your personal information with

We will not share this information with any other individuals or organisations without your written permission. Organisations and individuals whom it may be appropriate to share your data with, with your permission, include but are not limited to: landscape contractors, materials suppliers, other designers, and similar industry professionals.

How we store your personal information

Personal details that are collected electronically are stored within a secure server. These details are regularly saved to cloud storage operated by Google which has obtained confirmation of compliance from the European Data Protection Authorities.

Access to information is restricted to Tessa Tricks Design.

How long we store your personal information and how it is disposed of

If we work together
Once the garden design proposal has been accepted and agreed upon, any personal contact details recorded will be retained indefinitely to comply with legal obligations and resolution of any future disputes.

Prospective clients
We keep the personal details provided to us for 365 days as we know it often takes months or years to progress with desired projects. If we have not signed a contract within 365 we will then dispose of your information by deleting it from all records.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
